GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The PC43d is a "4 inch" direct thermal printer which works with label stationery from 19 to 118mm (0.8 to 4.7") wide. The 203dpi models have a maximum print speed of 8 inches per second and a maximum printable width of 104mm (4.1").
The 300dpi models have a maximum print speed of 6 inches per second and a maximum printable width of 106mm (4.2").
The PC43d printer comes with a USB port for connecting to a PC and two USB Host ports for use with some upgrade options and attaching other USB devices such as keyboards, scanners and memory sticks.
Budget models come with a fixed position label gap sensor, a movable black mark sensor, and a front panel which displays icons which indicate the status of the printer.
The other models come with a multi-language LCD screen, a Real Time Clock, and label gap and black mark sensors which can be positioned anywhere across the paper path.
The PC43d is simple to operate.
Budget models have a single print button and a ready to work indicator.
Other models have nine membrane buttons which are used in conjunction with the LCD screen and a ready to work indicator.
The printer measures 167 x 180 x 215mm (6.6 x 7.1 x 8.4") HxWxD and weighs 1.72kg (3.8lb).
The PC43d comes in black and is disinfectant ready.
The PC43d printer runs under Intermec Direct Protocol (DP), Intermec IPL and emulates Zebra ZPL, Zebra EPL and Datamax DPL.
For stand-alone applications the printer can be programmed using Intermec Fingerprint (FP) and Intermec C# for printers.
All printers have Latin fonts. In addition the printers with RFID also have Asian fonts.
INTERFACE OPTIONS
The PC43d comes with USB and USB Host interfaces. Some models come factory fitted with RFID facilities.
Ethernet LAN is a user installable accessory but for added convenience this is pre-installed in some printer models.
Serial, Parallel, and Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth connectivity are available as user installable accessories.
MEDIA HANDLING
The standard printer offers tear-off where the printed stationery is removed by pulling it against a tear bar.
Upgrade options are available to print and part peel single labels from the liner.
A Cutter is available with an optional Cutter Tray.
LABEL SENSORS
The PC43d printer has a gap sensor which works with die-cut label stationery, and labels and tags punched with holes.
The gap sensor in the budget models is fixed close to the centre of the paper path.
The other models have a movable gap sensor.
All PC43d models also have a movable black mark sensor which is used with labels and tags with black registration marks printed underneath the label media.
RFID
Some of the PC43d models are factory fitted with a UHF RFID encoder and can write information to labels with UHF tags.
MEMORY AND REAL TIME CLOCK
All PC43d printer models come with 128MB Flash and 128MB DRAM memory.
All of the PC43d printers, with exception of the budget models, are fitted with a Real Time Clock (RTC).
LABEL MEDIA
The PC43d direct thermal (DT) printer models can only print on DT label media.
The label media can be outside wound on 25.4 to 38mm (1 to 1.5") cores, or fanfolded.
The printer internally houses rolls of labels with an outside diameter of up to 127mm (5").
Fanfold stationery is held outside the printer and is fed through a slot in the rear of the printer.
The label media width can be from 19 to 118mm (0.8 to 4.7") wide.

LABELS
PC43d printers work with direct thermal (DT) media which does not require a ribbon.

Honeywell is in the process of discontinuing the Intermec range of label media for desktop, mid-range and industrial printers and are not yet offering alternative products.
