GENERAL INFORMATION
The Zebra DS4308P is a corded presentation imager 1D, PDF and 2D barcode scanner which measures 207mm (8.15") x131.5mm (5.18") x 95mm (3.74") (HxLxW) and weighs 300g (0.66lb).
The DS4308P can be picked up and used as a triggered hand-held scanner.
This product is aimed at office, retail and light industrial applications.
INTERFACES
The Zebra DS4308P scanner has a multi-interface which includes USB, Keyboard Wedge, RS232 and IBM 46xx (RS485).
A full range of cables is available.
PERFORMANCE
The Zebra DS4308P is suited to general purpose applications and can read printed barcodes and electronic barcodes displayed on mobile phones and computer screens.
The DS4308P scanner has a maximum resolution of 4mil for Code39, 5mil for PDF417 and 7.5mil for Datamatrix.
Typical reading ranges are:
0.0mm/0.0" to 279mm/11.0" for 5mil Code39
0.0mm/0.0" to 711mm/28.0" for 13mil EAN13
28mm/1.1" to 203mm/8.0" for 6.6mil PDF417
51mm/2.0" to 229mm/9.0" for 10mil Data Matrix

Cables are included in the scanner kits.
For other scanner configurations a cable is required to provide communication and to carry power.
Most USB, Keyboard Wedge, and IBM 46xx connections are able to supply power directly to the scanner from the connected equipment. In some rare cases external power may be required.
Standard RS232 ports generally cannot provide power and RS232 connections will usually need the assistance of an external power supply and a cable with a power socket.
