TOUGHNESS
The PD45S is designed using minimum internal mechanical parts and an all-metal frame structure which makes it sturdy and durable.
CONVENIENT MEDIA MONITORING AND LOADING
The PD45S has a large glass window which allows users to monitor the status of the printer and its consumables.
A side opening makes it convenient for ribbon and label loading.
ABILITY TO PRINT ON VERY SMALL LABELS
The PD45S can print on labels as small as 5mm in height with a vertical position accuracy of 0.5mm.
EASY TO MAINTAIN
The print head can be removed and replaced very simply and the front sensor that ensures accurate printing can also be easily removed for cleaning.
UNIVERSAL FIRMWARE
The PD45S supports a wide range of printer languages and can automatically detect which is being used.
HOW MANY MODELS OF THE PD45S ARE AVAILABLE?
There are eight models of the PD45S.
The PD45S0C models have an LCD display, navigation buttons, a ready to work indicator and a Print/Feed button.
The PD45S0F models have a full colour touch screen, a ready to work indicator and a Print/Feed button.
Both come with either 203dpi or 300dpi resolution and the option of a rewinder.
The 203dpi models have a maximum print speed of 10 inches per second. The 300dpi models are slower at a maximum print speed of 8 inches per second.
WHAT CONNECTION OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE?
All PD45S printers can be connected using USB, RS232 and Ethernet cables. A USB Host Port allows the connection of a keyboard, barcode scanner or USB storage device.
WHAT LABEL STATIONERY CAN BE USED?
The label stationery used by the PD45S is usually housed internally in roll form. Alternatively fanfold stationery can be fed in through a slot in the rear of the printer.
The printer works with rolls of label stationery wound on 76mm cores.
The maximum outside diameter of the rolls is 203.2mm.
All printer configurations work with heat sensitive Direct Thermal (DT) label stationery or with non-heat sensitive label media using a ribbon to print the label image.
The PD45S has adjustable label sensors which means that the label media can be:
- Self-adhesive die-cut labels with gaps
- Self-adhesive butt-cut labels without gaps and with under-printed black marks
- Non-adhesive tags punched with holes or slots
- Non-adhesive tags under-printed with black marks
- Continuous stationery, for example receipt paper
WHAT LABEL PRINTING SOFTWARE IS AVAILABLE?
Most label printers are used in conjunction with Label Printing Software packages.
An example of labelling software is Bartender Ultra Lite for Honeywell which can be downloaded free of charge.

Labelling software applications send commands in languages which are known to the printer.
If you wish you can use these printer languages directly.
The available languages for this printer are:

- IPL
- Zebra ZPL
- Datamax DPL
The PD45S has "autosensing" capability which enables it to detect the language being sent to it automatically.
Other specialist printer languages are available and these are described in Advanced Features.
WHAT CAN BE PRINTED ON THE LABELS?
The PD45S prints monochrome text, barcodes and graphics.
The legibility of small print depends on the printhead resolution, 300dpi being the better option.
The PD45S comes with a range of resident fonts and additional fonts can be downloaded.
A wide range of 1D and 2D barcodes is available.
WHAT MEDIA HANDLING IS AVAILABLE?
TEAR OFF
Some PD45S printer configurations come with no special media handling and the printed label media is torn off by pulling against the tear bar.
PEEL OFF
This mode requires a factory fitted option which includes a label taken sensor and a rewind spindle.
The self-adhesive label stationery is threaded through the printer, a few labels are removed from the end of the roll and the loose end of liner is wound around a core on the rewind spindle.
When the label is printed the label partly peels on the tear bar and waits for its removal by the user. The process is monitored by the label taken sensor and when the label has been removed the next printed label is presented and the spent liner is taken up on the rewind spindle.
WHAT LABELS AND RIBBONS CAN THE PD45S USE?
LABEL MEDIA
The PD45S can print on TT label media with the aid of a ribbon or on DT label media without a ribbon.
The label media can be outside wound on 76mm cores, or fanfolded. The printer internally houses rolls of labels with an outside diameter of up to 203.2mm.
Fanfolded stationery is held outside the printer and is fed through a slot in the rear of the printer.
The label media width can be from 20 to 114mm.
The maximum printable width is 108mm for 203dpi models and 105.7mm for 300dpi models.
The minimum label length depends on the mode of operation. In tear-off mode it is 5.0mm.
In peel mode it is 12.7mm.
In cutter mode it is 38.0mm.
The maximum printable length is 4.8m for 203dpi models and 2.2m for 300dpi models.
THERMAL TRANSFER RIBBONS
The PD45S can print on Thermal Transfer media with the aid of a ribbon.
The ribbons can be from 51 to 110mm wide. The ribbons can be inside or outside wound on 25.4mm cores.
The maximum ribbon length is 450m.
ADVANCED FEATURES

FINGERPRINT AND C#
Honeywell Fingerprint and C# can be used with the PD45S printer.
These Smart printer languages allow the printer to run applications and do not depend on the connection to a host.
USB HOST PORT
All PD45S printers come with a USB Host port. This can be used to connect USB keyboards, USB barcode scanners and USB storage.

DELIVERY
Our standard charge for 2-3 day delivery to most locations in mainland UK is £10.
This charge is subject to a weight limit of 20Kg.
For consignments which are heavier than 20Kg we reserve the right to add a surcharge.
If your order includes products from more than one manufacturer we may need to ship items from more than one warehouse and in such circumstances there may be a carriage surcharge.
