GENERAL INFORMATION
The Datalogic PowerScan PD8300 is a high performance hand-held laser barcode scanner.
The PD8300 comes in two models, Standard Range and Auto-Range.
The Standard Range model can read barcodes at up to 1m and the Auto Range model reads from 10cm to 10m, and out to 15m for reflective labels.
PD8330 models work with Keyboard Wedge, RS232, USB and Wand Emulation cables.
The PD8340-AR has undecoded output and works with TTL cables.
The scanners have a yellow and black colour scheme.
Some PowerScan PD8300 models are available as Scanner Kits which include cables.
Other configurations can be built from Scanners, Cables and Power Supplies and Cords.
DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT
The scanner dimensions are 207 x 76 x 114mm (8.1 x 3.0 x 4.5").
The weight is 0.295kg (0.65lb).
ENVIRONMENTAL
The scanner can withstand fifty 2m (6.6') drops to concrete.
The operating temperature for the scanner is -30º to 50ºC.
The scanner is protected to IP65. It is completely sealed to dust and withstands low pressure water jets from all directions.
POWER REQUIREMENTS
The scanner requires 4 to 30 V.
The power requirement is 370mA at 5VDC.

WARRANTY
The scanner comes with a 36 month factory warranty.
CABLES
The Datalogic PowerScan PD8300 barcode scanner requires a cable for connection to PCs or other equipment.
The cable must match the scanner cable interface.
The PD8330 has the Standard interface which caters for Keyboard Wedge, RS232, USB and Wand Emulation cables.
The PD8340 has undecoded output and needs a TTL cable.
The communication cable also carries power to the scanner.
Most USB, Keyboard Wedge, Wand Emulation and TTL connections are able to supply power directly to the scanner from the connected equipment. In some rare cases external power may be required.
Standard RS232 ports cannot provide power and RS232 connections will generally need the assistance of an external power supply.
Where external power is required a cable with an external power socket must be used.

Our standard charge for 2-3 day delivery to most locations in mainland UK is £10.
