GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Zebra GK420t is a 5ips Direct Thermal (DT) and Thermal Transfer (TT) label printer with 203dpi resolution.
The printer has an easy to use single button user interface with coloured LED status lights.
The GK420t measures 191mm (7.5") x 193mm (7.6") x 254mm (10") (HxWxD).
The printer weighs 2.1kg (4.6lbs).
MEDIA HANDLING
The standard model offers "tear-off" mode where the printed stationery is removed by pulling it against a tear bar.
An alternative factory installed option provides label peel-off facilities (no liner rewind).
LABEL MEDIA
The GK420t can handle rolls of label stationery up to 127mm (5") outer diameter on 25mm (1") cores.
Alternatively fan-folded label media can be fed into the printer via a slot in the rear.
The media width can be from 25.4mm (1") to 108mm (4.24"). The maximum printable width is 104mm (4.09").
The minimum label length is:
- 9.6mm (0.38") for TT tear off.
- 12.7mm (0.5") for DT tear off.
- 12.7mm (0.5") for peel.
The maximum label length is 99mm (39").
The label media types can be continuous, die-cut, notched or black marked.
The GK420t has fixed position label gap and black line sensors.
THERMAL TRANSFER RIBBONS
The GK420t is a thermal transfer printer which can printer on thermal transfer label media with the aid of a thermal transfer ribbon.
These ribbons are centred and outside wound on 110mm (4.3") wide notched cardboard cores with an outer diameter of 12.7mm (0.5").
The maximum roll diameter is 34mm (1.34") which equates to a ribbon length of 74M (244') for standard ribbons.
The ribbon width can be from 33.8mm (1.4") to 110mm (4.3").
COMMUNICATIONS OPTIONS
The GK420t has USB, auto-sensing Serial (which allows straight or crossed cabling) and one of the following factory fitted options:
- Parallel connectivity .
- Internal ZebraNet 10/100 Print Server (LAN).
MEMORY AND REAL TIME CLOCK
The printer comes with 4MB of flash memory and 8MB of SDRAM memory.
The GK420t does not have a Real Time Clock.
