GENERAL INFORMATION
The TSC TTP-225 Series consists of the 203dpi TTP-225 and the 300dpi TTP-323. Both are "2 inch" direct thermal printers which work with label stationery from 15 to 60mm (0.59 to 2.36") wide.
The 203dpi models have a maximum print speed of 127mm (5") per second and a maximum printable width of 54mm (2.13").
The 300dpi models have a maximum print speed of 76mm (3") per second and a maximum printable width of 54mm (2.13").
The printers have the following dimensions 140mm (5.51") x 177mm (6.97") x 241mm (9.49") (W x H x D) and weigh 2.45kg (5.4lbs).
PRINTER LANGUAGES
The printers run under TPSL-EZ which emulates Zebra ZPL and Zebra EPL and can also be programmed to create stand-alone applications.
FONTS AND BARCODES
The printers come with 8 alpha-numeric bitmap fonts and the CG Triumvirate Bold Condensed scaleable font.
The printers can print most 1D barcodes and Data Matrix, QR code, PDF417, Maxicode and Aztec 2D symbols.
INTERFACE OPTIONS
The printers come with USB and Serial interfaces, and a microSD card slot. Some models come factory fitted with a LCD display and internal Ethernet in place of the Serial interface.
Other models come factory fitted with a LCD display, internal Ethernet and USB Host in place of the Serial interface.
A Bluetooth module is available. This plugs into the Serial port.
MEDIA HANDLING
The printer offers tear-off where the printed stationery is removed by pulling it against a tear bar.
The label media can be fed through a rear in the rear of the printer or internally housed as outside wound rolls up to 127mm (5") diameter on 25.4mm (1") or 38mm (1.5") cores.
LABEL SENSORS
The printers have a transmissive gap sensor which works with die-cut label stationery, and labels and tags punched with suitable holes.
The printers also have an adjustable reflective sensor for label stationery with black registration marks printed on the under surface.
MEMORY
The printers come with 4MB Flash and 8MB DRAM memory.
The Flash memory can be expanded up to 4GB by inserting a microSD card in the slot.
LABEL MEDIA
The TSC TTP-225 is a thermal transfer (TT) printer model which can print on thermal transfer (TT) label media using a ribbon, or direct thermal (DT) label media without a ribbon .
The label media can be continuous, die-cut, black marked, fan-folded or notched.
The media width can be from 15 to 60mm (0.6 to 2.4") wide.
The minimum label length is 6mm (0.24") for normal printing. This minimum lncreases to 25.4mm (1") when used with peel-off or cutter accessories.
The label media is generally supplied in rolls outside wound on cores. For the TTP-225 the outer diameter of the rolls must not exceed 127mm (5") and the core diameter size must be 25.4mm (1") or 38mm (1.5").
THERMAL TRANSFER RIBBONS
When printing on thermal transfer (TT) label media the TSC TTP-225 needs a suitable ribbon.
Plain paper label media works well with Wax ribbons.
Coated paper label media works best with Wax/Resin ribbons.
Synthetic label media normally requires Resin ribbons.
The width of the ribbon should be at least as wide as the label.
For the TTP-225 the ribbons are outside wound on rolls up to 37mm (1.46") outer diameter on 12.7mm (0.5") cores. This corresponds to a maximum ribbon length of 90m (295') and the ribbon width is 56 to 58mm (2.20 to 2.28").
