AFFORDABILITY
The WS4 is a well designed four inch printer offered at a good price for a wide range of low volume applications where resolutions of 203dpi and 305dpi and speeds of 6ips and 4ips are adequate.
PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE SUPPORT
The WS4 works automatically with any of five major printer langauages giving it wide use with many existing systems.
COMMUNICATIONS OPTIONS
The WS4 comes as standard with USB, RS232C and Ethernet LAN.
It also comes with USB Host which is used for firmware upgrades or to add memory to the printer.
GOOD MEDIA HANDLING
The basic models of the WS4 have Tear-Off media handling.
Some models have a Label Dispenser or a Label Cutter.

Labels can be Face-In or Face-Out.
Rolls of labels can be on 25.4mm or 40mm cores or fan-folded.

WS4 models are available with the choice of 203dpi or 305dpi.
The maximum print speed depends on the models printer resolution and is 6ips for 203dpi and 4ips for 305dpi.
WHAT CONNECTION OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE WS4?
The WS4 has USB, RS232C AND Ethernet LAN as standard.
Some of the printers offer Bluetooth.
USB Host is available for firmware upgrades and extra memory.
WHAT LABEL STATIONERY CAN THE WS4 USE?
The label stationery used by the WS4 is usually housed inside the printer in roll form.
The rolls of label stationery are inside or outside wound on 25.4mm or 40mm cores.
The maximum outside diameter of the rolls is 127mm.
Alternatively fanfold stationery or other labels can be fed in through a slot in the rear of the printer.
The WS4 Direct Thermal models work with heat sensitive label stationery only.
The WS4 Thermal Transfer models also work with non-heat sensitive label media using a ribbon to print the label image.
The WS4 has a black mark sensor which is adjustable across the label width and a label gap sensor which is fixed near the centre of the label.
The label media can be:
- Self-adhesive die-cut labels with gaps
- Self-adhesive butt-cut labels without gaps and with under-printed black marks
- Non-adhesive tags under-printed with black marks
- Non-adhesive tags punched with holes or slots
- Wristbands
- Continuous stationery, for example receipt paper
WHAT LABEL PRINTING SOFTWARE IS AVAILABLE FOR THE WS4?
Most label printers are used in conjunction with Label Printing Software packages.
The WS4 is compatible with Bartender or Nice Label.
WHAT CAN THE WS4 PRINT ON THE LABELS?
The WS4 prints monochrome text, barcodes and graphics.
The WS4 comes with a range of resident fonts and a wide range of 1D and 2D barcodes.
WHAT MEDIA HANDLING OPTIONS DOES THE WS4 HAVE?
TEAR OFF
The standard WS4 printer configurations come with no special media handling and the printed label media is torn off by pulling against the tear bar.
PEEL OFF
In this mode a label dispenser is fitted to the front of the printer.
As each label is printed it is peeled ready for its removal by the user.
CUT OFF
In this mode a cutter unit is fitted to the front of the printer.
The printed label media passes through this unit and is cut across into individual pieces.
The label stationery will normally be non-adhesive label tags, receipt paper or self-adhesive labels with gaps.
WHAT LABELS AND RIBBONS CAN THE WS4 USE?
LABEL MEDIA
WS4 Direct Thermal models can print on DT label media only.
WS4 Thermal Transfer models can print on TT label media with the aid of a ribbon or on DT label media without a ribbon.
The printer works with rolls of label stationery wound on either 25.4mm or 40mm cores but it is generally more convenient to work with a single core size.
The maximum outside diameter of the rolls is 127mm.
Alternatively roll label stationery or fanfold stationery can be fed in through a slot in the rear of the printer.
The label media width can be from 22.4mm to 115mm.
The maximum printable width is 104mm.
The minimum and maximum label length depends on the printer model and the media handling mode as shown in the following table.

Thermal Transfer models of the WS4 can print on Thermal Transfer media with the aid of a ribbon.
Ribbons are available on 12.7mm or 25.4 mm cores.
74m, 91m and 100m ribbons come on 12.7mm cores and 300m long ribbons come on 25.4mm cores.
The width of the ribbon can be from 40mm to 110mm.

DELIVERY
Our standard charge for 2-3 day delivery to most locations in mainland UK is £10.
This charge is subject to a weight limit of 20Kg.
For consignments which are heavier than 20Kg we reserve the right to add a surcharge.
If your order includes products from more than one manufacturer we may need to ship items from more than one warehouse and in such circumstances there may be a carriage surcharge.
We will agree any carriage surcharge with you before accepting your order.
