WHAT IS THE DATALOGIC POWERSCAN PD9630?
The Datalogic PowerScan PD9630 is a family of ultra rugged hand-held corded 1D/2D barcode scanners.
WHERE DOES THE POWERSCAN PD9630 FIT?
The PowerScan PD9630 replaces the PD9531 and is part of the PowerScan 9600 family.
The PowerScan 9600 family is the latest in a long line of PowerScan Industrial barcode scanners.
The PowerScan PD9630 is the Corded General Purpose model.
The other members of the family are cordless scanners.
WHERE IS THE POWERSCAN PD9630 USED?
All models of the PowerScan PD9630 are aimed at General Purpose applications which require industrial strength.
WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT THE POWERSCAN PD9630?
TOUGHNESS
The PowerScan PD9630 is tough enough for most applications.
It can be dropped from a height of 2m to concrete.
It works at temperatures down to -20ºC.
It is totally sealed to dust and withstands immersion in water up to 1m.
POWERSCAN 9600 OPTICS
The PowerScan PD9630 omnidirectional imager has an advanced sensor with warm white illumination which provides snappy reading of all common 1D and 2D barcodes.
There is a choice of three optical systems.
These are known as Standard Range, High Performance and Document Capture.
All use soft white light to illuminate the barcode.
A frame is projected onto the barcode to assist aiming.
After a successful read occurs a green spot is projected onto the barcode.
Standard Range Optics are based on a single camera which reads standard and low density barcodes at a standard reading range.
High Performance Optics use dual cameras which read higher density barcodes at a longer reading range.
Document Capture Optics also have dual cameras which read standard and low density barcodes at a wider angle and have a colour sensor for image capture.
MOTIONIX TECHNOLOGY
The PowerScan PD9630 uses Datalogic Motionix Technology to make life easier.
Motionix automatically detects when the scanner is held in the hand and switches to hand-held mode. When the scanner is placed on a stand it switches to presentation mode.
FEEDBACK
The PowerScan PD9630 uses Datalogic 3GL (3 Green Lights) Technology.
Good barcode reads are indicated by three green lights, a loud beeper and a green spot projected onto the barcode.
The scanner also vibrates.
5-30VDC POWER
All PowerScan PD9630 models can handle 5 - 30VDC.
This voltage range covers a huge range of hardware scenarios and caters for the low voltage DC rings widely found in industry.
