GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The PowerScan PD9500-DPM Evo is an industrial hand-held imager 1D and 2D barcode scanner with with high density optics and is designed for reading direct part mark codes (DPM) . Cables are available for USB, Keyboard Wedge and RS232.
A 5VDC power supply is available for the PowerScan PD9500-DPM Evo.
UK and EU mains power cords are available.
Accessories include a Holster, a Desk/Wall Holder and an Industrial Take-up Reel for dangle suspension.
DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT
The scanner dimensions are 212 x 110 x 74mm (8.3 x 4.3 x 2.9") LxWxH.
The weight of the scanner is 0.330Kg (0.725lbs).
ENVIRONMENTAL
The scanner can withstand 50 drops from 2m (6.6') to concrete.
The operating temperature is -20º to 50ºC.
The scanner is environmentally rated at IP65, which means that it is totally protected against dust and can withstand low pressure jets of water.
POWER REQUIREMENTS
The PowerScan PD9500-DPM Evo needs a 5VDC power source and requires up to 350mA.
RESOLUTION AND READING RANGES
The PowerScan PD9500-DPM Evo is fitted with high density fixed optics and is designed for working close to DPM or printed barcodes.
The reading distance for DPM codes will depend on the marking method, code symbology, code resolution, substrate and topology.
For printed barcodes the smallest barwidth for 1D codes is 2 mil and the smallest Data Matrix cell size is 4 mil, and the reading ranges for barcodes printed in black on white paper is as follows:
2 mil: 2.8 to 6.3cm (1.1 to 2.4")
2.5 mil: 2.5 to 7.8cm (0.9 to 3.0")
5 mil: 1.2 to 9.0cm (0.4 to 3.5")& 4 mil: Data Matrix: 2.6 to 5.2cm (1.0 to 2.0")
5 mil: Data Matrix: 2.2 to 7.2cm (0.8 to 2.8")
10 mil: Data Matrix: 2.0 to 10.5cm (0.8 to 4.1")& 5 mil: PDF: 1.2 to 9.0cm (0.4 to 3.5")
