The Datalogic Gryphon I GM4100 is a high performance wireless hand-held barcode scanner aimed at the office, retail and light industrial sectors.
The scanner operates at up 30m from the radio base station which has a built-in charger.
The equipment comes in two colour schemes with a choice of two cable interfaces for the radio base station.
The standard cable interface works with Keyboard Wedge, RS232, Wand Emulation and USB cables.
The IBM/POS cable interface uses IBM 46xx, RS232 or USB cables.
The GM4100 can read all standard 1d barcodes and both the linear and stacked versions of the GS1 DataBar.
Some Gryphon I GM4100 models are available as Scanner Kits.
Other configurations can be built from the Scanners, Radio Base Stations with Charger, Chargers, Cables, Power Supplies, Mains Power Cords and Accessories shown below.

CABLES
A communications cable is required to connect the BC4000 radio base station.
The choice of cable will depend on which radio base station is used.
The BC4030 has the Standard interface which uses Keyboard Wedge, RS232, Wand Emulation and USB cables.
The BC4010 has the IBM/POS interface which uses IBM 46xx, RS232 and USB cables.
The radio base station requires power to maintain the wireless link and to recharge the GM4100 scanner when placed on the BC4000.
The optimum means of providing power is to connect a 12V DC power supply directly to the BC4000. This generally results in shorter recharge times and widens the choice of cable.
An alternative is to use the communications cable to carry the power from the connected equipment or to use a power supply in conjunction with the cable.
Most USB, Keyboard Wedge, Wand Emulation and IBM 46xx connections are able to supply power directly from the connected equipment.
Standard RS232 ports cannot provide power and RS232 connections generally require the assistance of an external power supply which plugs into a socket on the cable.
The choice of RS232 cable, and the possible requirement for a power supply, will depend on the connected equipment.
