The corded Gryphon I GD4400 2D is part of the Datalogic Gryphon family of barcode scanners. It is a premium quality hand-held area imager 1D, PDF and 2D barcode scanner.
This scanner is aimed at the office, retail and light industrial sectors, and comes in two attractive two tone colour schemes, black with gray and white with gray.
The Datalogic Gryphon I GD4400 2D is a premium quality barcode scanner aimed at the office, retail and light industrial sectors.
The GD4400 2D can read all standard 1d barcodes, the linear and stacked versions of the GS1 DataBar, PDF and most 2D matrix codes. The GD4400 2D can read barcodes from PC screens and mobile phones.
The GD4400 is rated at IP52, can withstand drops to 1.8M, has a working temperature range of 0° to 50°C and comes with a five year factory warranty.
The GD4400 2D scanner has a motion sensor which detects when it is being used in the hand or mounted in a stand. The scanner's behaviour automatically changes from that of a triggered hand-held scanner to a presentation scanner which switches on the reading beam when presented with an object.
The GD4400 2D hand-held scanner comes in two colour schemes with a choice of models for standard or IBM/POS applications.
The GD4430 2D has the standard cable interface which works with USB, Keyboard Wedge, RS232 and Wand Emulation cables and is available with a choice of focal length, Standard Range (SR) and High Density (HD).
The GD4410 2D has the IBM/POS cable interface which works with IBM 46xx, RS232 or USB cables and is only available with the Standard Range (SR) focal length.
The SR models have a maximum resolution of 4mil for 1D and PDF barcodes and 7mil for Data Matrix. The working ranges for 13mil 100% EAN13 and 10mil Data Matrix are 1.5 to 40cm and 0 to 23.6cm.
The HD models have a maximum resolution of 3mil for 1D and PDF barcodes and 5mil for Data Matrix. The working ranges for 13mil 100% EAN13 and 5mil Data Matrix are 1.1 to 17.2cm and 2.8 to 6.1cm.
Some Gryphon I GD4400 2D hand-held scanner models are available as USB Scanner Kits.

CABLES
The Datalogic I GD4400 2D barcode scanner requires a cable for connection to PCs or other equipment.
The cable must match the scanner cable interface.
The GD4430 2D has the Standard interface which caters for Keyboard Wedge, RS232, USB and Wand Emulation cables.
The GD4110 2D has the IBM/POS interface which uses IBM 46xx, RS232 or USB cables.
The communication cable also carries power to the scanner from the connected equipment or from an external power supply connected to the cable.
The GD4430 2D with the general purpose Standard cable interface requires 4.2 to 5.25 V DC.
The GD4410 2D with the IBM/POS cable interface works with 4 to 14 V DC.
Most USB, Keyboard Wedge, Wand Emulation and IBM 46xx connections are able to supply power directly to the scanner from the connected equipment. In some rare cases external power may be required.
Standard RS232 ports cannot provide power and RS232 connections will generally need the assistance of an external power supply.
Where external power is required, a cable with an external power socket must be used.
