GENERAL DESCRIPTION
All Magellan 800i scanners can read standard 1D barcodes including the GS1 Databar.
In addition the 1D/PDF/2D models can also read matrix codes such as Aztec, Data Matrix, MaxiCode and QR, and stacked codes such as GS1, MicroPDF417 and PDF417.
DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT
The scanner dimensions and weights are as follows:
- 115 x 76 x 109mm (5.9 x 3.0 x 4.3") 0.306Kg (0.675lbs).
DROP RESISTANCE AND PROTECTION
The scanner can withstand drops from 1.2m (4') to concrete.
The particulate and water sealing is rated at IP52. This means that the scanner is protected against dust (but some ingress can occur) and is protected against sprays of water 15 degrees from the vertical.
CABLES AND INTERFACES
Models are available with USB or RS232 cable interfaces.
A range of USB and RS232 cables is available.
POWER REQUIREMENTS
The Magellan 800i needs an input voltage of 5VDC and typically requires up to 350mA power.
RESOLUTION AND READING RANGES
The Magellan 800i can read 1D barcodes with barwidths as small as 5mil.
The typical depth of field is:
- Code39 (5mil) 0 to 25mm (0 to 1")
- Code39 (10mil) 0 to 82mm (0 to 5")
- EAN (13mil) 0 to 152mm (0 to 6")
- PDF417 (6.6mil) 0 to 76mm (0 to 3")
- Data Matrix (10mil) 6 to 31mm (0.2 to 1.2")
- Data Matrix (24mil) 0 to 127mm (0 to 5")
