KEY FEATURES

The key features of the Zebra GX420d printer are as follows:


General Description

The GX420d is a 203dpi direct thermal barcode label printer which prints on thermally sensitive media without a ribbon.

The maximum printable width is 4.09 inches and the maximum print speed is 6ips.

All Zebra G-series printers shipped by us include a CD, USB cable, Cleaning Pen, Quick Start Guide, UK/EU power cord and Warranty Registration Cards.

The CD contains User and Programming Manuals, Printer Drivers and the ZebraDesigner entry level label design application.


Dual Language

The GX420d works with both EPL and ZPL.

The GX420d can be used with both legacy desk top printer applications and those which can take advantage of ZPL.

ZPL is used to power the heavy duty Zebra industrial printers.


Connectivity

The GX420d has a triple interface which comes as standard with USB, Serial and Parallel.

The ZebraNet 10/100 Ethernet internal print server is available as a factory installed option. This replaces the parallel connection.


Fonts and Barcodes

Five expandable resident bitmap fonts are available for EPL.

One resident scaleable smooth font and sixteen expandable resident bitmap fonts are available for ZPL.

In addition the printer supports OpenType fonts and Unicode.

Most commonly used linear barcodes and 2d codes are available.


Paper Handling

The GX420d works with direct thermal media which can be wound on rolls up to 5" in diameter or presented fan-folded.

The media can be die cut or continuous with or without black registration marks.

The standard printer has sensors which are fixed near the mid-point of the media path. Fully adjustable sensors are available as a factory fitted option.


Options and Accessories

Zebra G-series printers are supplied with a USB cable.

The standard model can also connect via Serial and Parallel the cables for which are available as accessories. Details are as below:

Ethernet connection is available as a factory installed option.

Fully adjustable sensors are available as a factory installed option.

Models with other options may be available at a later date.

Other accessories include the KDU Plus and KDU keyboard display units for stand alone printing systems. Details are as below:


Optional Software

The printer is supplied with the ZebraDesigner entry level label design and printing software.

More advanced labelling software is available at extra cost. Details are as below:


User Installable Spares

The direct thermal print head can be replaced by the user. Details are as follows:
