The Opticon OPI-4002 is a hand-held wireless area imager 1D, PDF and 2D barcode scanner kit.

The kit consists of a low profile OPI-4002 hand-held wireless area imager barcode scanner, a wireless OPA1001 USB dongle and a UK power supply.

The scanner and the dongle communicate at distances of up to 30M using a IEEE 802.15.4 Zigbee radio connection.

The dongle plugs directly into a USB port on a Windows PC and acts as a USB Keyboard Wedge (HID).

The scanner is powered by a rechargeable battery which gives about 30 hours of service and takes about 3 hours to fully recharge.

The power supply plugs into the scanner or can be used with the optional CHG-4001 charger cradle. The OPI-4002 can read all standard 1D barcodes, PDF stacked 2D codes and most 2D matrix codes.

The scanner is protected against the ingress of water and dust to IP42. It operates at 0° to 40°C and can withstand 1.5m drops to concrete.
