Click here for Prices and Options The Intermec ScanPlus 1800SR is small, light and comfortable to use. Unlike some other low cost CCD barcode readers the ScanPlus 1800SR is able to read some barcodes which are nearly twice the width of the reading head. The Intermec ScanPlus 1800SR was designed for retail and light industrial applications and its ergonomics are such that it can safely be put down on work surfaces. The performance of the Intermec ScanPlus 1800SR is suprisingly good. The Intermec ScanPlus 1800SR is typically used in retail applications to read EAN13 barcodes. However, the performance of this barcode scanner allows you to do lot more. The barcode scanner can read small barcodes with very narrow bar widths. At the other end of the spectrum the ScanPlus 1800SR can read barcodes which are up to 120mm wide. The barcode read distance depends on the barcode bar width and varies from 20mm to 100mm. EAN13 retail barcodes sit comfortably in the middle of this range. The Intermec ScanPlus 1800SR is available with or without trigger and comes in complete kits pre-configured and cabled for USB, PC Wedge or RS232. For more advanced applications the ScanPlus 1800SR head is available separately with a choice of more than 30 cables for connection to a wide range of terminals and other computer equipment. The ScanPlus 1800SR comes with the Intermec EasySet software which is an exceptionally powerful configuration tool. A special version of this barcode reader is available for use with PDF419 and other stacked 2D barcodes. Finally the Intermec ScanPlus family offers other models which use long range CCD Vista technology which brings a massive improvement in performance. The Intermec ScanPlus 1800VT is a corded barcode reader which uses Vista technology. The Intermec ScanPlus 1802 is a wireless barcode reader which combines Vista technology with a working range of 15m. Sadly the ScanPlus family used to include the Intermec Scanplus 1800ST laser barcode scanner but unfortunately it is no longer available in the EU.
