GENERAL INFORMATION
The Honeyell Hyperion 1300g is an imager scanner which can read nearly all types of 1D barcodes and GS1 Databar symbologies.
The scanner is available in two colours, Ivory and Black.
The scanner has a multi-interface which works with USB, Keyboard Wedge, RS232 (5V or 12V signals) and IBM 46xx cables.
The scanner is supplied in kits which include USB or Keyboard Wedge cables.
Other configurations can be constructed from a scanner, cable, power supply and stand.
DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT
The scanner dimensions are 150 x 112 x 79mm (5.9 x 4.4 x 3.1").
The weight of the scanner is 0.160Kg (0.350lbs).
ENVIRONMENTAL
The scanner can withstand 50 drops from 1.5m (5') to concrete.
The scanner is rated at IP41, which means that it is protected against small objects, and can withstand dripping water and condensation.
The scanner operates within a temperature range of 0º to 50ºC.
The humidity can be 0 to 95% non-condensing.
The light levels can be 0 to 70000 lux (direct sunlight).
CABLES AND INTERFACES
A range of USB, Keyboard Wedge, RS232 and IBM 46xx cables is available.
POWER REQUIREMENTS
The Hyperion 1300g needs a 5VDC power source and requires up to 200mA.
For USB, Keyboard Wedge, IBM 46xx and sometimes RS232, this power can be supplied by the host.
Where host power is not available power can be provided by an external power supply. Power Supplies with UK or EU mains plugs are available.
RESOLUTION AND READING RANGES
The minimum resolution is 3mil.
The typical read range for 5mil is 50 to 200mm (2.0 to 8").
The typical read range for 7.5mil is 40 to 300mm (1.5 to 12").
The typical read range for 10mil is 30 to 380mm (0.5 to 15").
The typical read range for 13mil (EAN13) is 10 to 460mm (0.5 to 18").

For other scanner configurations a cable is required to provide communication and to carry power.
Most USB, Keyboard Wedge, and IBM 46xx connections are able to supply power directly to the scanner from the connected equipment. In some rare cases external power may be required.
Standard RS232 ports generally cannot provide power and RS232 connections will usually need the assistance of an external power supply and a cable with an external power socket.
