GENERAL INFORMATION
The 433Mhz Datalogic PowerScan PM8300 is a high performance wireless hand-held laser barcode scanner aimed at industrial applications.
The PM8300 scanner comes in a range of models which provide a choice of up to 1m or up to 10m reading range, fixed or removable battery, no display screen or screens with three key and sixteen key keypads. The PM8300 scanners have a full industrial specification. The scanners with no screen are rated at IP65 and those with screens at IP64. The scanners operate at -20º to 50ºC and can withstand drops of 2m.
The scanners come with a wide range of supporting equipment.
There are two combined radio base and scanner chargers which can support up to 32 scanners each at a range of up to 50m.
A separate scanner charger is also available.
For those scanner models with removable batteries there are battery chargers.
Both radio base stations have the standard cable cable interface which works with Keyboard Wedge, RS232, USB and Wand Emulation cables and one of the radio bases has a RS485 port for networking.
The radio bases can be powered at 5V DC from the connected equipment or by a 10 to 30V DC external supply.
Some PowerScan PM8300 models are available as Scanner Kits.
Other configurations can be built from the Scanners, Radio Base and Scanner Chargers, Scanner Chargers, Battery Chargers (where the scanner has removable batteries), Cables, and Power Supplies and Cords.
DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT
The dimensions of the scanners without screens are 20.7 x 11.4 x 6.9cm (8.1 x 4.5 x 2.7").
The dimensions of the scanners with screens are 21.0 x 11.4 x 6.9cm (8.3 x 4.5 x 2.7").
The dimensions of the cradles are 24.0 x 108 x 9.5cm (9.5 4.3 x 3.7").
The weight of the scanners is 0.395kg (0.84lb).
The weight of the cradles is 0.380kg (0.87lb)
ENVIRONMENTAL
The scanner can withstand fifty 2m (6.6') drops to concrete.
The operating temperature for the scanner is -20º to 50ºC.
The scanners without screens are protected to IP65 and those with screens to IP64.
Both are completely sealed to dust. IP65 means that the scanner can withstand low pressure water jets from all directions.
IP64 means that the scanner can withstand water sprayed from all directions.
POWER REQUIREMENTS
The scanner is powered by an internal battery which can provide about 60,000 reads.
The charge time is 4 hours with an external supply.
The charger cradles work with 10 to 30VDC external power.
The power requirement is 1A at 10VDC.

CABLES
The Datalogic BC8000 radio bases with charger require a cable for connection to PCs or other equipment.
Both the BC8030 and BC8060 have the standard cable interface caters for Keyboard Wedge, RS232, USB and Wand Emulation cables.
The radio bases with charger will normally be powered by an external supply.
In some cases power at 5V DC can be obtained from the connected equipment but this results in a much longer time to re-charge the PM8300 battery.

DELIVERY
Our standard charge for 2-3 day delivery to most locations in mainland UK is £10.
This charge is subject to a weight limit of 20Kgs.
For consignments which are heavier than 20Kgs we reserve the right to add a surcharge.
If your order includes products from more than one manufacturer we may need to ship items from more than one warehouse and in such circumstances there may be a carriage surcharge.
We will agree any carriage surcharge with you before accepting your order.
