The corded Gryphon I GD4400-B 2D is part of the Datalogic Gryphon family of barcode scanners. It is a premium quality hand-held area imager 1D, PDF and 2D barcode scanner with a tiltable permanent base.
It is primarily aimed at presentation applications in the office, retail and light industrial sectors and comes in two attractive two tone colour schemes, black with gray and white with gray.
The GD4400-B 2D can read all standard 1d barcodes, the linear and stacked versions of the GS1 DataBar, PDF and most 2D matrix codes. The GD4400-B 2D can read barcodes from PC screens and mobile phones.
The GD4400-B 2D has a maximum resolution of 4mils for 1D and PDF barcodes and 7mils for Data Matrix. The working range for 13mils 100% EAN13 and 10mils Data Matrix are 1.5 to 40cm and 0 to 23.6cm.
The GD4400-B is rated at IP52, can withstand drops to 1.8M, has a working temperature range of 0° to 50°C and comes with a five year factory warranty.
The GD4400-B 2D scanner has a motion sensor which detects when it is being used in the hand or standing on a work surface. The scanner's behaviour automatically changes from that of a triggered hand-held scanner to a presentation scanner which switches on the reading beam when presented with an object.
The GD4400-B 2D scanner comes in two colour schemes with a choice of two cable interfaces to suit standard or IBM/POS applications.
The GD4430-B 2D has the standard cable interface which works with USB, Keyboard Wedge, RS232 and Wand Emulation cables.
The GD4410-B 2D has the IBM/POS cable interface wich works with IBM 46xx, RS232 and USB cables.
Kits including cables etc. are currently not available. The scanner requires a cable and may require a power supply.

CABLES
The Datalogic I GD4400-B barcode scanner requires a cable for connection to PCs or other equipment.
The cable must match the scanner cable interface.
The GD4430-B 2D has the Standard interface which caters for USB, Keyboard Wedge, RS232 and Wand Emulation cables.
The GD4410-B 2D has the IBM/POS interface which uses IBM 46xx, RS232 or USB cables.
The communication cable also carries power to the scanner from the connected equipment or from an external power supply connected to the cable.
The GD4430-B 2D has the general purpose Standard cable interface and requires 4.2 to 5.25 V DC.
The GD4410-B 2D has the IBM/POS cable interface and works with 4 to 14 V DC.
Most USB, Keyboard Wedge, Wand Emulation and IBM 46xx connections are able to supply power directly to the scanner from the connected equipment. In some rare cases external power may be required.
Standard RS232 ports cannot provide power and RS232 connections will generally need the assistance of an external power supply.
Where external power is required, a cable with an external power socket must be used.
